My Favorite Basket… So Far

0
I made this basket last night sitting in front of the tv. I think it’s my favorite one yet. It’s another chunky crochet basket. The color is perfect.
I used Lion Brand Thick and Quick in Oatmeal. It took every bit of 2 skeins with an N hook. The size is a larger (7 inches in height and 10 inches in diameter) since I used a larger hook. This particular color of yarn seems to be thicker than other colors of the same brand.
I think I’ll make 2 or 3 more just like this for the craft fair.

  1. Love this … How big is it ? What ply wool did you use and how many grams in a skein. Sorry for the technical questions but here in Europe things are a little different. I would love to have a go at making this basket, it looks wonderful. Thank you for sharing this pattern with us all.

  3. Is this a new pattern, or one of your chunky basket patterns? I got some Zpagetti yarn and want to try it using one of your patterns 🙂

  9. I do this same basket without the handles, usually with two strands; a neutral and a bright, to add contrast. I have even done it with some bulky decorative yarns – I don't put as many rows in them, and have always called them bird's nests. They take about half an hour, and I keep them on hand to give as gifts/sell at craft fairs. I will have to add the handles; it totally changes the look of the basket.
